ID Essence is part of Imago Dei Prison Ministry (ID). Below is a breakdown of the other aspects of their work.

ID Prison Ministry works with chaplaincy departments in three women’s prisons in Greater London and the South East.

They have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who deliver a ‘Free to Be’ suite of programmes on topics such as parenting, resilience & identity and forgiveness. They also provide faith support and pastoral care.

It has always been Imago Dei Prison Ministry’s vision to have a community aspect to the work they do. Both preventative and rehabilitative. With ID Essence coming on board this aspect of the work has now begun for young women.

Watch this space to see how ID Community grows and develops in future to include women of all ages and work for prevention of crime as well as rehabilitation.

ID Grace House is currently in development in response to the need Imago Dei Prison Ministry was seeing for their to be safe and supportive housing options for women after their release from prison.

Once ID Grace House is set up, it will provide accommodation, training and support for women leaving prison.

That’s us! We have been Imago Dei Prison Ministry’s Young Adults team since March 2021. This means that in addition to our usual services, we also work across the other aspects of Imago Dei Prison Ministry to help engage and support any 18-25 year olds using Imago Dei Prison Ministry’s services.
